[pics] hawaii ocean expo woah! and april flowers at the parc

April 6th, 2009 · 13 Comments

ha this photo might only make sense to the starbucks drive-thru girl and me, but man i love her. she knows me better than most people i know and pretty much has the exact same sense of humor. the other day, through the speaker box thing, we were both having a laugh at how the rice krispie treat is actually called a more non-brand-name friendly “crispy marshmallow square”. when i pulled up to the window i found that she had properly labeled my treat

oh wait! can we skip back a smidge so i can tell you about the hawaii ocean expo? cause WOAH! who went? i saw a watanabe or two…

it was sunday afternoon after the most epic saturday i’d had in a while (you just read about that one last week, hopefully)

and i HAD to get over to the blaisdell

i mean.  living on an island in the middle of the pacific for some time now, i’m thinking. this is something that absolutely needs to happen.

i was just kidding when i said my future husband is here on twitter that day. i already met my future husband. and father of my 8 children. ok, 11. but there was definitely some ocean beauts cruising this show.

jason and tyler. you might know them as the guys that think of things, then make them happen.

don’t think there’s a better place to get poke than a hawaii ocean expo either. i actually got there too late to even get my own. but i sampled. and woaaaaaaa.

the clam chowder was nice enough. good nourishment for the wander around too. ha ha i was like, straight in the door, straight to chowder, straight to wander.

i’m having brain goo right now trying to write, just scroll for a second and see how marvelous this weekend ocean expo was:

i spent my last $20 today too. $15 on a rvca shirt and $5 on a lau lau plate that i split with maka. best $20 i spent all week tho.

thank god my pockets were empty when i saw the sham wow guy. those things are like magic!

i couldn’t buy my own sunblock machine even if i had the money. they are more for like hotels and businesses on the beach. you know, like when you pay $1 for a spray of cologne in the bathroom. hey, why don’t we have any of those? that would be so rad to have at a nightclub. oooo, and those advertisement postcard carousels with all the free postcards in them. it’s hawaii.

lurked clark little

lurked clark little’s red bull.

lurked the big winner fish that took like 6 guys to carry

hey breuuuu. you’re beachedIZ.

(yes that will be funny to me for a while.)

think about what you know of the vertical junkies. then tell me this wasn’t totally their calling. seriously. oh and in case you weren’t there? they NAILED it!

that lau lau plate i mentioned earlier.

this was a damn good sunday. i’ll admit it took a lot to drag myself down there but what a day. the only thing it was missing was nelz.

that was sunday this was this past thursday. i was back at the parc!

saying hello to a 42 below bar. hello!

and cheesecakes. helloooo.

ahhhh back to the parc. the place that melted all my woes away only a month ago.

it was a special event today though. on the chic pool deck. which matched perfectly with the chic chicks.

a lot of them, too.

wait. alyson gets two. i MISS this woman. she’s been too busy having her chic site acquired. and doing like tv segments on sunrise. no big deal.

nalani there in the middle was also taking a break from being a fabulouso honolulu businesswoman. ps: i fall in love with her eclectic cutesy gift boutique every time i go to satura cakes. if you ever got one of those rad “you rule” pink thank you notes from me…. i got em there.

i just realized i’ve been hearing eskae a lot lately. what’s funnycool is that it’s been at events very far apart on the nightlife spectrum, so it’s been an extremely vast catalog of awesome. what is that serato, steve, like a 8766489794375GB hard drive?

it was a hello to spring event, but it was a bit chilly today. i think like 72 but super windy. ask anyone there they will say it felt like 52.

oooo the rock shrimp from nobu just downstairs was a nice wind-chill pick me up

nobu nibbles for the win. infinity.

everyone, prada. prada, everyone.

oh rock shrimp. if i had been drinking i would have tried to take you home tonight.

with my fellow camera counterparts tonight. i’ll tell you more in a sec.

first we should collectively say “Oh no! poor dan!” together…

so the hot new place is the parc blue, in case anyone was wondering.

you said more shana peete, you get more shana peete!

ryan catching the accidental zoom in. with quite a bit of grace, actually.

katrina too. WOAH. cuteyperfectface.

brad was laughing at me  because i kept going to the bar to take pictures and not get drinks. i know. i should have been drinking. what’s going on here.

i’ll tell you what was going on. i’m here to do an interview with red live. and i can’t be drunk. it would be weird. now, if i could go back in time i would have probably had a few drinks. to take the edge off. it was my first time, like, ON camera. i was freaked.

sarah and dan made it better

and ooo, fashion show

sorrry. if you read me you know that i pretty much always blow it when it comes to runway shots during a fashion show.

thank god dan was there too.

just trust me til he gets his pics up. it was nice looking.

oh wait!! i got one! awww, it’s kinda cheating tho. that’s brigitte patton! my girl! she totally stood still for me so i could get the money shot. heartheartheart!

72 my foot, you guys. it was more like 52. ask min. they were using the cabana pillows to keep warm.

the gentlemen of honolulu

leo and ray

eri!!

it’s eri hartsel. mrs hartsel. sorry guys.

daniel’s single tho. that should cheer everyone up.

so ya, that giant professional looking camera that followed me around the pool? that was red live. i’ll link to it when it’s ready. they interviewed me and dan and aaron about nightlife blogging.

i can’t wait to see what dan said.

meanwhile sophia was making it a killer night

<3 you girls

you too

hawaii red too. i like your stuff. and getting vince to shoot means pro pro pro. can’t wait to see.

i just really hope i don’t look/sound like a dork. i’m kinda super really scared…

but ya, was a nice place/event to shoot at for sure.

just seriously. i hope there’s such a thing as being able to photoshop video….

we’ll just have to wait and see. charles said it’s dope so…..

i’ll keep you posted.

got the lost wrap party and the playboy night with lana kinnear in the wings. prob wednesday. watch this space! i’m all caught up!
