BE PART OF THE PROCESS, LEAVE YOUR MARK: AUDIENCE MAKES ART BY REMOTE CONTROL AT ROBOT TEA PARTY

At Gallery ‘Iolani’s new exhibition Robot Tea Party, it is the visitors who attend this special interactive installation who will be making the art.

For several months, the five members of the art collective AV Club of Honolulu have been modifying remote-control (RC) car systems, replacing the vehicles’ tires with crayon casts and fabricating a sound system based on the same RC technology. At Robot Tea Party, visitors get to control this device on a giant sheet of paper, leaving colorful track marks in its wake, for the performance piece “Title Track.” Visitors will be able to get involved for the duration of the exhibition.
