Director, Reha Erdem
Turkey, 2007, 110 mins.

An intensely lyrical film, and winner of both the FIPRESCI and Best Turkish Film Awards at the 2006 Istabul Film Festival, “Times and Wind” is Reha Erdem’s fourth feature. The film depicts the harsh emotional lives of three preteen friends and the ways their families curb their dreams and desires as surely as the mountain and sea confine their isolated village.

Lyrical is right. Going to Turkey on a Tuesday night ain’t half bad. This film plays all week and if you happen to be having a hectic week maybe a trip to Doris Duke Theater on Kinau might just do the trick.

Valentine’s Day week huh! Wicked! I hear Kid Cudi is going to come give us some love. Going to save up most of my energy for that and of course spend the energy gained from the show on all the weekend stuff happening.

More on that soon. My weekly update of photos is sitting here right now waiting to be picked through and described.
