| that' wasn't really our logo... i just couldn't find any sfor stuff anywhere so i made that myself... anyway-- i got to go to sarajevo in the winter of 1997. i was at the ilidza compound (shown below) just outside of the city. even though we were the stabalization force, there was still that warzone atmosphere that had everyone-- from the top brass all the way down to the peons like me-- working around the clock to make sure everything was running smoothly. what was awesome about it though was the laid-back attitude of EVERYONE... we all knew our job and we did it and BOY did we know how to unwind after a 12-16 hour day! beer was only 1 mark and there were a lot of *special* places we could go to party after hours... i also got to see U2 play (first concert after the war) and WHAT A PERFORMANCE! bono's voice was gone but being able to be in that stadium with the serbs AND the croats and every nation that was involved with sfor-- nato and non-nato... GOD it was just amazing... i wish i could explain to you how awesome that felt... oh well-- you can see some pictures now... |
